Publications: My story
(2005) Where it began
Looking back, the very first magazine I worked was Unitec’s student magazine, In-unison. I landed this gig just before I graduated from my design degree in Auckland, New Zealand. In-unison won the Best Student Magazine Design Awards under my art direction.
(2006 – 2012) ACP Media
Shorty after that I landed a position at ACP Media NZ (now owned by Bauer Media) working on two of New Zealand’s leading magazines, Kia Ora – Air New Zealand inflight magazine and Cleo magazine – I really enjoyed the contrast. During my five years at ACP Media NZ I also worked on Taste and very briefly on Metro and North&South magazines. Taste was a great magazine to work on, along with designing, I did a lot of food styling for the photoshoots.
(2012 – 2017) ACP Media / Bauer Australia
I moved to Sydney in 2012 and have worked at ACP Media / Bauer Australia up until 2017. Starting out at TV Week magazine as a Deputy Art Director, I also Art Directed their supplement magazine Soap Extra. Moving to Gourmet Traveller magazine for a short period I then became the Creative Director at Cleo and Dolly magazine before returning to food titles, I worked across Australian Womens Weekly Cook Books department, AWW FOOD and Recipes+ magazines.
(2018) Mohi Media
In 2018 I worked at Australian Bulk Handling and Rail Express as their first in-house Art Director. The two magazines were previously designed remotely by different design studios and they needed a refresh. For a publication with dense copy, the brief was to increase the visual appeal, without straying too far from the original design. |

(2018 – 2019) Pacific Magazines
When I first joined Pacific Magazines I was a freelance designer on New Idea and Who magazines. Before long I moved to full time as Deputy Art Director at That’s Life magazine.
In July 2019 I relocated to Tasmania with my family.
